Fun Slide Adventure, Alternate title: Why Connor wil be Scared of Heights Forever

A couple years back, we took the kids to a local festival, Italian Fest.  It took place on banks of the Ohio, in Kentucky.  I know Italian Kentuckians?! Who knew?! But, apparently, back in the day, there was some serious mob activity on the KY side.  Us, Italian Ohioans just stuck to our side of the tracks on our hill.  Or at least that is how I imagine, or that is what my Gramma told me.

Anyway, last time Connor and CC went to Italian Fest we learned a few things...
1. Tony's had the BEST Italian Sausage  Hoagie
2. Pompillio's trumps every booth there
3. Ponies scare CC, and cause Pa-Pa to have a major allergic reaction
4. Connor hates big slides

The kids were young, think 2 and 1.  YOUNG.  So, we attributed points 3 and 4 to the age of the kids.  This year, they were older, and braver and asking to ride things.

But, let's flash back to 2011...
The Fun Slide, looks fun, right? All kids like slides, right?

Terror....

Not so fun, Fun Slide

So, yes, 2 year ago the slide ended in tears.  Yes, that was his Godfather smiling down the slide as Connor held on for life.

This year had to be different, right?

Pa-pa, had an idea.  He hypothesized, since Connor was older, he'd LOVE the slide now.  Further more, sending Godfather Willy a picture of a smiling Pa-Pa and Connor at the end of the ride would be icing on the cake.

Already, Connor loved the mini-scrambler.  CC lasted 30 seconds before they had to turn off the ride for her to exit.  CC's still not ready for big rides.  But, if you can ride the scrambler, the slide is in the bag.  Bragging Rights to Pa-Pa for making Connor happy! Thumbing our nose at Godfather Willy, showing off WHO can make Connor smile down the slide!

Connor and Pa-Pa were excited.  Katy, Jeff, CC and I stood at the end of the slide, anticipating the smiles and  "that was so fun" talk that would soon follow.  I decided to video the event, while Katy did the stills.  Here was how this "FUN SLIDE" adventure went....

Getting in the Burlap Bag

Everything seems ok.... we heard a little whimpering

Oh no, Connor's first sign of terror...

Connor grips for his life, while Pa-Pa smiles

Traumatized Connor, red faced from seeing his little life flash before his eyes

Not the picture Pa-Pa wanted to send to Willy.
Connor is now petitioning for the Fun Slide to be renamed the Slide of Nightmares.

Here was the original post from 2 year ago, incase you want to enjoy those pictures.
